The A to Z Bookish Survey

The A to Z Bookish Survey is hosted by Jamie at the Perpetual Page Turner, but I saw it. On Brin’s Book Blog. I was not actually tagged, but I was encouraged to do it, and it seemed really cool!

Author you’ve read the most books from:

I’m not sure. Maybe John Green or Rick Riordan. It’s soon to be Cassandra Clare. I’m planning to read all of her books next month.

Best Sequel Ever:

I’m gonna have to say Scarlet by Marissa Meyer. It’s one of those books I like even better than the first book. The series is just getting better and better!

Currently Reading:

Several books. You may know that I am slowly listening to the audiobook of The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt. I am also reading Grave Mercy by Robin LaFevers, How We Deal with Gravity by Ginger Scott, and The Young World by Chris Weitz.

Drink of Choice While Reading:

Maybe hot chocolate? Or iced hot chocolate in the summer

e-Reader or Physical Book?:

I use both. e-Readers are more convenient, and its easier to find a comfy reading position with these, but physical books are so much fun to collect, and they have no battery life! They also survive natural disasters more often than electronics do!

Fictional Character You Would Have Dated in the Past:

No idea. I wouldn’t have dated in the past. I still don’t.

Glad You Gave this Book a Chance:

Not sure. I’m gonna go with Wonder by R.J. Palacio. Or maybe Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs. I was kind of skeptical about these books, but I really liked both of them.

Hidden Gem Book:

Branded by Abi Ketner and Missy Kalicicki. I say this because this is written by independent authors, and I haven’t seen much hype about it. Read my review here.

Important Moment in your Reading Life:

Discovering goodreads. Also starting this blog.

Just Finished:

Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas. I really liked it! I hope to buy the whole series when they all come out.

Kinds of Books You Won’t Read:

I avoid erotica and smutty books. I tend to avoid books with shirtless people kissing on the cover.

Longest Book You’ve Read:

Gone with the Wind by Margaret Mitchell

or

Les Miserables by Victor Hugo

I’m not sure which one is longer and I’m too lazy to check.

Major Book Hangover due to:

Haven’t really had one lately. I read more than 20 books last month, so there’s that…I feel kind of worn out.

Number of Bookshelves you Own

I have 4 in my bedroom. I also keep some of my books on several other shelves around the house. Shelf room is definitely and issue for me!

One Book you have Read Multiple Times:

I love rereading childhood books. A Series of Unfortunate Events and Harry Potter are my main sources of nostalgia

Preferred Place to Read:

Anywhere quiet with comfortable seating and even lighting. Preferably a boring landscape like a white wall so I don’t get distracted.

Quote that Inspires you:

“It is our choices, Harry, that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities.”

-J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

Reading Regret:

I regret nothing. Reading is cool.

Series you’ve Started and Need to Finish:

The Mortal Instruments Series. I started it a couple years ago when I borrowed the first book from a friend. I have recently purchased the whole series in beautiful hardcover.

Three of your All-Time Favorite Books:

Farenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury

The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams

Harry Potter in General

Unapologetic Fangirl for:

John Green. I know, my answer is pretty mainstream and obvious, but HE’S REALLY COOL, OK?

Very Extremely Excited for this Release:

The conclusion to the Lunar Chroicles series!!

Worst Bookish Habit:

Reading like 20 million books at the same time

X Marks the Spot–Look at your bookshelf. What is the 27th book?

My bookshelf is stacked, so it’s kind of hard to tell. I think it’s Ender’s Shadow by Orson Scott Card.

Your Latest Book Purchase:

I got a bunch of books for school. I got the complete works of Sylvia Plath, Breakfast of Champions by Kurt Vonnegut, The Power of Myth by Joseph Campbell, and one more which I cannot remember.

ZZZZ Snatcher–The Book that Kept You From Sleeping:

Just whatever I’m reading at the moment. I also generally use the night time for watching BookTubers.

  1. This looks like so much fun! I’m with you on bookshelves, never enough space even when I stack them. You’ll probably have a fictional crush after reading Mortal Instruments. 😉

      1. Jem’s one of my favorite fictional guys! 🙂 I hope you like the Mortal Instruments. I like the first 3 better than the second 3, but I like the Simon and Magnus parts better in the second. (Magnus is such a great character!)
